Research shows that when seniors move into communities like ours, social participation goes up, and many thrive!

The former U.S. Surgeon General declared loneliness a national health crisis in 2023, and for older adults, it’s one of the most serious threats to quality of life. Senior living communities are proving to be part of the answer.
A study followed over 600 older adults and found that social participation declines in the years leading up to a move into senior living, and then reverses course after the move. Participation in organized activities increased, and attendance at group events such as religious services rose by 12.6%.
The takeaway is simple: the right community can help bring people back to a fuller life.
“This is about dignity and quality of life, and making sure that we help people live rather than just not die.” — Dr. Kenneth Lam, University of Colorado School of Medicine
