According to the 2025 CareScout Cost of Care Survey, assisted living posted 5% year-over-year rate growth—the highest of any long-term care category studied. That follows 10% growth in 2024, when inflation and surging post-pandemic demand pushed rates sharply higher. CareScout describes the current baseline as “historically high.”

That step down from 10% to 5% matters for residents and families facing affordability pressure. For operators and investors, the stability it signals matters just as much—a consistent, high baseline may support more predictable, long-term returns.
